Klinik und Poliklinik für Augenheilkunde, Universität Leipzig In Germany about 1.5 million people suffer from any kind of dementia. The prevalence rises from 13% among the aged 80-84 to 35% among the aged 90 and older. Due to the demographic characteristics also ophthalmic surgeons will be increasingly confronted with questions concerning legal care. The aim of this lecture is giving an overview about the legal position in Germany.
